Spot the Difference Free Skin Check Days!

In Support of the melanomaWA’s Melanoma March Awareness Campaign, both the Bunbury Skin Clinic and The Skin Clinic Mandurah are holding *FREE Skin Check Days. The medicare rebate amount is donated back to melanomaWA! There are no appointments necessary – all you need to do is bring your Medicare card.

  • Mandurah – Saturday 17th February – 9.00am – 2pm
  • Bunbury – Saturday 24th February – 8.30am – 1pm


The Melanoma March is coming back to WA in 2018!

melanomaWA has again teamed up with Melanoma Institute of Australia and Australian Melanoma Research Foundation to minimise the impact of melanoma on all Australians and will be hosting 5 Melanoma March events:

  • Sunday 11th March, Mandurah, registrations from 7.30am
  • Sunday 18th March, Bunbury registrations from 7.30pm
  • Sunday 8th April, Perth, registrations from 7.30am
  • Saturday 5th May, Broome, registration from 3.30pm
  • Sunday 20th May, Kalgoorlie, registrations from 7.30am

These family friendly events are designed to increase melanoma awareness and raise funds to assist melanomaWA to provide support to those who have been touched by melanoma, as well as funding a national research project into melanoma.

Most importantly, each location, for those registered, will include FREE SKIN SCREENING by trained medical professionals.

We will also have children’s entertainment, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.

When registering online you have the option to fundraise and further assist us in making a difference.

The Mission for melanomaWA (M4mWA) is back for 2018

The M4mWA a 2 day, 100 mile off road cycling event from Perth to Northam and return on the Kep Track through the beautiful John Forrest National Park. 

This 3rd M4mWA is set for Friday 24th – Saturday 25th August, along the way the team will be stopping at schools and community groups to raise awareness of melanoma. One of our 2016 M4mWA riders, put it best when they said… “Why do we ride? For the kids… our bikes are the vehicles that carry us to bring our melanoma awareness and prevention message to the kids and communities”Derek Carroll 2016

All you need is a Cyclocross, Mountain or any Bike with 32mm tyres and you are good to go.

This year we are introducing a 1 day (approx 40km) walk to the bike ride, so whether you are a rider or a walker, the M4mWA is for you.

There will be the opportunity to visit school and community groups to raise awareness of melanoma along the way!

As part of the ride we will ask each individual to raise funds so that we can continue our awareness initiatives and support programs. Fundraising Goals: Rider – $1000, Walker, – $500, Support – $250.

Your support of this event will help all those touched by melanoma in our community.

2018 melanomaWA Ball – date and venue soon to be announced!

This is our premier event and gives melanomaWA an opportunity to create awareness about melanoma prevention, thank all our supporters and showcase all the work and initiatives we have created in the community throughout the year.

We promise you an action-packed evening of fun and entertainment, so join us in what is a celebration of melanomaWA and the support we receive from our amazing community!

This formal occasion will include pre-dinner drinks, 3 course meal, beverages. There will be a red carpet entrance, music, live entertainment, comedy, a photo booth, spot prizes, door prize, games, live and silent auctions with some amazing items up for grabs. We will also be announcing the 2018 melanomaWA Person of the Year winner, honouring one of our most amazing people and acknowledging what they do in the community for us.

melanomaWA & Lions Cancer Institute Community Skin Screening Week + No FryDay
coming in November 2018!

After the success of our Skin Screening Week in previous years, we are looking forward to being back bigger and better next year.

This event ticks all the boxes!

  • The people of Perth get the opportunity to get their skin screened for skin cancer, especially deadly melanoma.  TICK!
  • We highlight the importance how early detection can prevent melanoma.  TICK!
  • By bringing our team to you, we are making things easy for you. Any obstacles that prevent people getting to their doctor to get a skin check are removed.  TICK!
  • The trained Lions volunteers will take the guesswork out of identifying which are the good moles and which are the bad moles.  TICK!
