2018 Mission for melanomaWA
The Mission for melanomaWA (M4mWA) is back for 2018
The M4mWA is a 2 day, off road event along the Kep Track through the beautiful John Forrest National Park. Will you ride 100 miles or walk a marathon for melanomaWA?
This 3rd M4mWA is set for Friday 24th – Saturday 25th August, along the way the team will be stopping at schools and community groups to raise awareness of melanoma. One of our 2016 M4mWA riders, put it best when they said… “Why do we ride? For the kids… our bikes are the vehicles that carry us to bring our melanoma awareness and prevention message to the kids and communities” – Derek Carroll 2016
This year we have a cycling and a walk option:
Cycling: Leaving at Swan View riding to Northam (Muresk Institute) on Day 1 and returning back to Swan View on Day 2. The total ride is 160kms
Walk: Departing from Swan View to Childow (22kms) on Day 1 and from Childlow to Swan View on Day 2.
For the ride you need is a Cyclocross, Mountain or any Bike with 32mm tyres and you are good to go.
The walkers will need good all terrain walking shoes.
There will be the opportunity to visit school and community groups to raise awareness of melanoma along the way!
As part of the ride we will ask each individual to raise funds so that we can continue our awareness initiatives and support programs. Fundraising Goals: Rider – $1000, Walker, – $500, Support – $250.
Your support of this event will help all those touched by melanoma in our community.
