melanomaWA is very pleased to announce that Aaron Wilson has officially come on-board as our new Operations Manager.
Aaron first came into contact with melanomaWA a couple of years ago as he began his melanoma journey after being diagnosed Stage IV in April 2016.
Experiencing first hand the amazing work done by melanomaWA in the community to minimise the impact of melanoma, Aaron knew that when an opportunity arose to join melanomaWA it was one he couldn’t let pass by.
In Aaron’s own words:
‘Dealing with a Stage IV diagnosis was life changing for me in both positive and negative ways.
Having been through a diagnosis and a number of treatments over my melanoma journey I know full well the impact it can have on a person’s life and the lives of those around you. While being on this rollercoaster over the last three years, what has made the journey easier is being able to talk to others who are facing the same challenges. You can’t really describe how valuable it is speaking to someone on the same windy path as yourself. And I have melanomaWA to thank for connecting me with others just like myself.
That’s why I decided to leave my corporate career behind and focus on helping others just as they have helped me. And I couldn’t think of a better place to do that than melanomaWA.
I am very much looking forward to connecting with you all and continuing the great work being done here at melanomaWA.’
